主讲内容:
How do research trends, theories, and methods come together to shape our understanding of Sino-foreign intercultural relations? In this special lecture, Dr. Benjamin H. Nam will take participants on a journey through the evolving landscape of intercultural relations research. He will highlight key developments from the past, present, and future, with special attention to the surge of scholarship in the current decade. The lecture will spotlight how theoretical perspectives from cross-cultural psychology, sociology, anthropology, and human geography help us make sense of intercultural encounters in China and beyond. Dr. Nam will also open the “black box” of methodology by showcasing how qualitative approaches can bring these dynamics to life. Drawing on his own recent research, he will demonstrate how methods and theories intersect in practice to illuminate pressing issues of transnational academic mobility, cultural exchange, and intercultural communication. This lecture offers not only a window into the state of the field but also a set of tools and insights for scholars, students, and practitioners eager to navigate the complexities of Sino-foreign intercultural relations in a rapidly changing world.
